One of the best buildings completed in Poland last year and at the same time the best office building constructed in 2015 is located in Lodz, on Sienkiewicza Street.
On May 13, 2016, the results of the 2015 Award of the Year competition were announced at the Zamoyski Palace – the headquarters of the Association of Polish Architects in Warsaw.
The Ericpol Software Pool office building received the SARP 2015 Award of the Year for the best completed architectural structure in Poland in the category of public facility – office building. The designer of the building is HORIZONE Studio, the investor is Ericpol, and the contractor is the Lodz branch of STRABAG.
The SARP Award of the Year is the most prestigious architectural award given annually to the best completed buildings in Poland.
The Jury’s justification for the awarded prize reads:
“The award was given for the creation of an unusually homogeneous yet subtle vision of a small contemporary, friendly office building – the headquarters of the company. The project is characterized by harmony with the environment, correct reading of the climate of the place and bringing out its value, through dialogue with it. It is a realization which, being thoroughly contemporary, fits perfectly into the existing urban landscape of historic post-industrial origin. Particularly noteworthy is the design discipline, design lightness, moderation and masterful handling of simple details, as well as restraint in the means of expression used, from formal to material. All of this contributes to the achievement of a friendly working environment and demonstrates that the collaboration of a designer with an informed client fosters the creation of excellent architecture.”
We also thank the Investor (Ericpol) and the general contractor (STRABAG) for their cooperation. We are all proud of this award.
For the 2015 SARP Award of the Year competition, local governments, private investors and architectural studios submitted 81 buildings. During 2 Jury meetings, after a thorough analysis of the submitted projects, supported by local visions, 21 objects were nominated for the SARP 2015 Award of the Year.
Of the 21 nominated objects, the Jury awarded 8 honorable mentions and 7 awards in various categories, as well as the Grand Prizes.

This year’s SARP Main Award for the best building completed on the territory of the Republic of Poland in 2015 went to the International Conference Center in Katowice by JEMS Architekci – congratulations!
