In July 2018, the report “Healthy Green Offices” prepared under the aegis of PLGBC Polish Green Building Council by a team of specialists designing and implementing modern work spaces in office buildings in Poland was officially presented. The report was co-authored by Horizone Studio, which was invited to create the report with such companies as JLL, Skanska Property Poland, VASTINT, Sweco Consulting, WSP Poland, Interface. Bartlomiej Kisielewski and Robert Strzenski participated in several months of work on the report from Horizone Studio’s side. The report is a response to market demand in setting standards and good practices in the design of modern and employee-friendly workspaces. It is also the first coherent study of green offices in Poland. The PLGBC Healthy Green Offices report is based on surveys of office workers throughout Poland. It is divided into two parts.
The first part is an analysis of a several-month survey of 703 people working in dozens of office buildings in various cities in Poland. Among other things, the analysis reveals employee expectations and the actual state of affairs regarding green workplaces.
The second part of the report is devoted to the various aspects that define a friendly workspace, and in this sense it can be seen as a guideline for designing healthy green offices.
The report outlines the key elements of a healthy and green office, aspects of the work environment and surroundings, the importance of location and the arrangement of office lease space. It also includes examples of good practices, the latest trends and specific suggestions for actions to improve the quality of the office environment.
