Over 400 participants, dozens of speakers from Poland and abroad, discussions, and inspiring meetings – this was Poland’s most important event dedicated to the green transformation of the construction and architecture sectors. The 15th edition of the PLGBC Green Building Summit took place on October 9-10 of this year in Warsaw, under the theme “Building Harmony: Climate, Nature, Circularity, Wellbeing.”
As Horizone Studio, we were honored to be a supporting partner of this unique event. This year, Bartłomiej Kisielewski, a partner of our office, participated in the panel discussion entitled “Health Encoded in Space: Architecture Shaping Quality of Life,” where he addressed the impact of architecture on the well-being and well-being of its users and highlighted the crucial role that wise urban planning plays in building a healthy living environment.
Session 1: Zero Carbon & Climate Resilience. How collaboration, innovation, and ESG practices can strengthen cities’ resilience to the climate crisis—making them healthier, more equitable, and future-ready.
Session 2: Leadership for Circularity. The role of leaders in the transformation to a circular economy—strategic decisions, cross-sector collaboration, and innovation throughout the entire lifecycle of buildings.
Session 3: Biodiversity First. Taking steps today for a better future. How incorporating biodiversity into building designs can deliver business value and ecologically enrich urban spaces.
Session 4: Architecture & Buildings for Wellbeing. How to design spaces to support health, well-being, and social connection—integrating inclusive, regenerative, and sustainable approaches.
This year’s new addition was the Experience Zone: Green Storytelling, a space for startups and innovations that are transforming the way organizations approach sustainability.
Day two began with a session on “A Just Transition of the Built Environment,” dedicated to the just transition of the construction sector towards climate neutrality. Panels also addressed the decarbonization of construction, with particular emphasis on the role of technologies such as CCS/CCSU in decarbonization strategies.
On the second day, the latest PLGBC report on the carbon footprint of buildings was also presented – an analysis of the built-in and operational footprint, along with recommendations for action.
The PLGBC Green Building Summit is the most recognizable and influential international event for those shaping the future of sustainable construction, architecture, and real estate in Poland. This is where specialists, practitioners, and enthusiasts share best practices and inspiration. The program is filled with presentations, panel discussions, case studies, networking, and other additional activities.
Following the conference’s keynote address, the PLGBC Green Building Awards 2025 gala took place. The statuettes presented to the winners were designed and prepared by the Horizone Graphics team.
The Wesoła masterplan won first prize in the competition in the “Sustainable Urban/Municipal Initiative” category. A team of experts appointed by the City of Krakow worked on the project, with Bartlomiej Kisielewski, a partner at Horizone Studio, serving as lead architect and coordinator. Congratulations to the entire team!
