House on a Slope one of the most interesting houses of 2024

Murator Magazine once again appreciated the House on a Slope project by Horizone Studio

A unique house embedded in the scarp

In this project, the landscape, or more precisely its reflection, is the most important “material” of the facade. Large glazing on almost the entire front and side facades precisely reflect trees, shrubs, grass and stones. This precision is due to the use of special glazing, the so-called selective, creating a stronger reflection, which reflects the natural surroundings almost like a mirror.

The mass levitating above the terrain, on one side is driven into the escarpment. Its roof with different angles of inclination, imitating the shape of the slope, is an astonishing continuation of its shape. And the fact that the mass of the house is not a product of nature is reminded by the simple geometric style of the window frames protruding in front of the glazing.

We wrote more about the design of the house by Horizone Studio, designed by the architects: Dominik Darasz, Bartłomiej Kisielewski, Robert Strzeński, in cooperation with Małgorzata Szewczyk and Magdalena Habrat-Rączka in the article.
