International School of Krakow – an international school operating under the auspices of the US Embassy in Poland – has asked Horizone Studio to perform an analysis and preliminary concept for the expansion of the school’s campus located in Lusina near Krakow. The premises of the new building would serve both the elementary and middle schools of ISK.
The facility would include classrooms, as well as sports, gymnastics and ballet rooms. The facility would be closely linked to the functions located in the existing school buildings. The premise of the project was to create a modern educational space that is inclusive and inspiring. That’s why some rooms are visually interconnected. The building received a public green roof, where recreational elements were placed. As in every Horizone project, natural light penetrating into the interiors was to play an important role.
