In April, the website Architektura i Biznes published a comprehensive article presenting all the competition concepts for the new home of the Krakow Philharmonic. This unique compilation demonstrates the diversity of contemporary architectural visions, from solutions deeply rooted in historical context to bold, forward-thinking forms that redefine urban space.
Among the presented designs was a concept developed by Zaha Hadid Architects in collaboration with Horizone Studio. This proposal transcends conventional concepts and proposes a new quality in thinking about public architecture in Krakow. The dynamic form, fluid lines, and bold approach to the building’s form create a vision of a place that could become not only a space for music but also an icon of the modern city. The project offers an interesting alternative to the more conservative competition concepts, demonstrating that Krakow can be a space for dialogue between history and modernity, without compromising on quality or architectural ambition. It also exemplifies the fruitful collaboration between an international office and a local design studio, combining global experience with local sensitivity.
